A Litte Princess
"We are all princesses ... didn't your father ever tell you that! Didn't he?"
This piece was actually inspired from not the original but the second A Little Princess movie.
Sometimes women we forget how beautiful and gentle our souls are.
We are all princesses.
We are all beautiful.

Who am I?
This piece was painted in my first week back in Dallas after being in Madrid.
I was so confused about everything.
With culture shock.
It is hard to believe I have integrated into 3 cultures each one having changed and challenged my point of view as well as broadened my horizons.
However, no matter how many people you meet how many cultures you integrate to, it only proves how little you know.
Life goes up and down. Vigorously yanks you to one side then to the other.
In the end friends come and go...
Boyfriends come and go at an even faster speed...
But -you- remain -yourself-.
You can never change your soul.
It will mold a little differently but you will always be you.

Las Cinco de la Tarde
My mother and younger sister came to visit me in Madrid during the Spring. We of course meticulously followed the tourist list of famous attractions and truthfully enjoyed every second of it.
The most emotional for my family though, was the bullfight and the musical about the bullfight we saw the night after.
It was not until that moment that I realized how sweet animals are and how brutally we take advantage of their kindness... it is amazing, but ironically though we take our anger out on these creatures and label it "culture" we still seem to have so much anger and resentment left over which we of course take out on each other.
How the slicing of an innocent animal can be labeled culture is beyond me.
...... a las cinco de la tarde........
Together or Apart?
This piece in particular has been one of the most interesting ones to make and to think up...
It symbolizes globalization and the effects we have on others as a consequence of our quickly shrinking world. All of the different shades of colors within the different areas act as a metaphor for the different cultures, countries, races, ideas, languages, religions in the world. The center shows how we are quickly becoming one color... or in other words all these different peoples around the globe are turning into a globalized world. The problem with that is though globalization is forcing us to become this world.... we are all still very much disunited and unwilling to open up to this new world we live in. Not to mention how unconscious we are of the huge impact our decisions have on the entire world whether it is as a country, or an individual.
So in conclusion the question remains... are we together or apart?

El Gitano Borracho
Are all gypsies drunks?
... well.... I can't speak for all of them but I can certainly speak for the polish gypsies that live in Madrid ..... and they are most definitely all drunks.
They are exactly like in this picture... some with black eyes... some with one black eye. Others with a ridiculously red face because all of the alcohol has cut off their circulation to their brain or something. And always hustling....
Ugh I can remember perfectly when this damn gypsy in Paris sold me a fake painting of the Eiffel tower! I know exactly what you are thinking, what an idiot how in the world do you mistake a fake painting from a real one?.... well my friends it is much harder than you have been led to believe.
The Drunk Gypsy.
